Restaurants in Aruba

Comments:

  • I have been going to Aruba since 1967 and have seen several changes on the island. A trip to Aruba is not complete with out at least one meal at the Waterfront restaurant. The conch chowder beats clam chowder by far. And the live Maine Lobster is a feast from heaven. Don't miss this place for fine dining. Ed Wendell
  • We have been going to the islands since 1962 (our honeymoon). It took a long time but we found Aruba a few years ago. We have been to Aruba three times and expect to return again. My wife and I feel very safe and comfortable in Aruba. The people are just wonderful and just nice to be around. When we are on holiday we eat dinner at a different restaurant each night. Last January are best dining experience was at Papimento. Having dinner at the pool was very nice and of course the food and service was very good. Barry Rich

Hotels in Aruba

Comments:

  • I just love Aruba! We just got home from a two week stay at our time-share at the Ambassador Casa Del Mar. We were there Feb. 3 to Feb. 17. I love to read the comments from everyone who writes in. We have been going to Aruba since l986. I don't choose to go any where else in the Caribbean. I can honestly say that Aruba has spoiled me! Can't wait to go back. Sally Dionne
  • Aruba is one of my favorite islands. I have been there four times with visits elsewhere over the last 10 years and always find it to be the best. I always stay at the Best Western Manchebo Beach low rise and find the place to be clean and comfortable. It by far and away has the best of all the beaches on the island. Gary Brown
  • Hi: My wife and I have been to Aruba several times. We love the place so much that we could live there. It is a lovely island. We always stay at the Bushiri Beach Resort. It is small, clean, and the staff go all out to make your holiday one to remember. The main things we like about Aruba are: 1. The friendly people; 2. It is very clean; 3. You can drink the water; 4. Very little crime; 5. Nice beaches and hotels; 6. Last but not least, the FOOD is GREAT. Vincent Bartlett
  • Our family LOVES Aruba! We stay at LaCabana and one night go out to dinner at the Hyatt Regency to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Susan Popok

Activities in Aruba

Comments:

  • Spent Thanksgiving (8 days) in Aruba. Had a wonderful time, but did not see anywhere near all the things I wanted to see. Can't wait to return. The golf at Tierra del Sol was very good. Look forward to playing again.

  • I have visited Aruba for approximately five years now. I see that some people have questions about the area. I would be more than happy to answer any and all of them, if submitted directly to me. I can answer almost anything about things to do, places to see, and exceptional restaurants in town. One suggestion I can make to anyone visiting the area is to take a trip on the Mi Dushi and say hello to Captain Mario, he is one of the best people you will ever meet. Theresa Striedl
  • I was in Aruba with a loved one last June and it exceeded all of our expectations. We are both busy New Yorkers, and we found Aruba to offer the perfect opportunity for togetherness and relaxation. We stayed in a friend's timeshare at Aruba Beach Club and enjoyed every minute. After acclimatizing to the intense sun (and replenishing our stock of sun block) we did something else every day: my favorite was touring the whole island in a Watapana Tours jeep. Nicolas S. Owens
  • I just came back. When you go, you have to see and do the following: eat at the Hyatt Regency at night; ask for an outside table. See the sun set. Walk the 7-mile beach, You can stop at any hotel to get something to drink and or eat. Use #30 sun screen for the first 3 days. Go to the beach early (7am) to get a place that will have shade later. The sun gets bad in the afternoon. Go to the Holiday Inn Casino. The people are very nice there. If you do not know how to play, they will help you. Do not go on any horseback riding trips unless you are very good at it. That's it for now. I plan on going back later this year, I had so much fun. INTRFUSE

People & Culture of Aruba

Comments:

  • My husband was born in Aruba in 1933 at the hospital in the Colony. We have been making yearly visits for the last thirty years, so you can see that we are devoted to the island. We spent 5 weeks there this winter and had no bad experiences at all. I always notice how much cleaner the island is recently...how nicely a driver will wave a pedestrian to cross the street...how people smile when they greet you. I was raised in Puerto Rico and Aruba has the tranquility I remember from my childhood. A. O'Brien

Honeymoons in Aruba

Comments:

  • Hi, I visited Aruba in May on my honeymoon. I was born there in 1972, when my father worked for Lago-Esso (Exxon). It was my wife's first time there, and all she talks about now, is when are we going back. Here are a couple of comments on Aruba: 1) Rent a jeep, not a car if you really want to tour the island; 2) Go for Carnival (Feb), but book well in advance; 3) Most of all, have fun, don't rush, and don't get to sunburned. Kevin Marks
  • I have been to Aruba 10 times and we just spent our honeymoon there at the Aruba Marriott Resort last September. I think it is the best island in the Caribbean. Dianne Doucette
  • My husband and I visited Aruba in April for our honeymoon and loved it! We stayed at the Bucuti Beach Hotel, which was wonderful even though they overbooked and we were required to stay in one room for one night and switch to another for the rest of our trip. The Pirates Nest has WONDERFUL food and atmosphere. And the beach there is huge so you have some privacy while laying topless on the only topless beach in Aruba. We rented a Suzuki Samurai for a day and toured the island on our own which we highly recommend. (Just remember to take lots of bottled water along with you because in the heat you will get very thirsty and there is not any place to stop!) We can not wait to go back. Carrie Langsam
  • My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon in Aruba and it was PERFECT!!! Everything from the accommodations (we stayed at Costa Linda and the Radisson Aruba), the people (both tourists and Arubans), the food, the beaches, the attractions and the weather. We didn't want to come home. I would highly recommend a trip to Aruba and I'm sure we'll be back!!!

Traveling With Children

Comments:

  • We have been traveling to Aruba since 1977. Been there about eight times and always enjoy it. We now take our son with us. It's a nice family island. Steven Levinson
  • As a 25-year repeat visitor to Aruba, I find it getting better all the time. I am always happy to see that the Bon Bini Festival is still going strong. It is great entertainment for families - and where can you spend such a pleasant evening for only $2. We return every year to it, and the music gets into our hearts! Masha danqui! John A. OBrien
