Something Special

Internationally renowned artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser's new Rogner-Bad Blumau Hotel, about 90 miles from Vienna in the rolling hillsides of Styria, is a continental spa in a fairy-tale setting. Onion-dome-topped towers sit on brightly painted, multi-colored structures built into the contour of the hill. There are more than 500 rooms and 24 apartments, as well as three hot springs, Roman and Turkish baths, Finnish saunas, full spa and holistic treatments, and such sports as tennis, riding and golf. Daily rates start at around $120.
