Weather
In general, Mexico City enjoys spring weather year-round, with the evenings somewhat
cooler, especially in winter. June to September is the rainy season, which is typified by
short and heavy showers in the afternoons.
Fall - Mid 70s throughout the day, down to 60s at night. Early fall is
still considered the rainy season, and you can expect daily rainfalls in the afternoons.
Winter - Mid 70s throughout the day, down to 50s at night. Dry.
Spring - Mid 70s throughout the day, down to 60s at night. Dry.
Summer - Low 80s throughout the day, down to 70s or cooler at night.
This is the rainy season, and afternoon showers are the norm.
Transportation
Air - International flights arrive at Benito Juarez International
Airport, which is about 25 minutes from downtown. The major carriers are: Mexicana,
Aeromexico, American Airlines, United, Delta, Northwest, Continental, Lufthansa, British
Airways, Air France, Lan Chile, Lloyd Aereo Boliviano, Taca, Copa, Avensa, Aviateca,
Varig, Aerolineas Argentinas, AeroCaribe, Taesa, and Iberia. Taxis from the airport to
down- town are relatively inexpensive. It is recommended to use the authorized airport
taxis, purchasing your ticket in the main terminals and baggage claim areas. Prices will
vary depending on the area of the city where you are going.
The domestic airport is Toluca (about 40 minutes outside the city), but it is used for
charters or private aircrafts only.
Taxis - Varied taxi system. Cabs can be obtained at stands, via
radio, or on the streets. .
Subway - Mexico City has an excellent subway system covering the
entire metro- politan area.

Medical Facilities
Mexico City has several private hospitals with excellent service such as ABC, Hospital
Espanol, Los Angeles, Humana, and Medica Sur. There is also the Red Cross, which is the
first to be called to an accident. The ambulance service as well as the emergency service
has no set fee and you pay it on a totally voluntary basis. The ambulance will take you to
whatever hospital you wish or, depending on your status, they'll take you to their own
base hospital.
