Visas  
Visas are not required of British, Canadian, or American citizens. Proper identification in the form of passport, birth certificate, or voter registration card. Tourist cards must be filled out upon arrival, and are valid for 3-6 months. Student visas last up to year and can be extended later.

Vaccines 
Brazil requires all visitors to be vaccinated for yellow fever.

Currency
Mexican Peso. As of this writing, the exchange was about 8.5 pesos per 1USD.

Business
Most shops are open from 9am to the early evenings. Some may close from 2-4pm along with offices, which reopen from 4-6pm.

Time Zones
Three time zones separated by one hour.


Electric Current
110 volts, standard American plugs.

Language
Spanish. English is widely spoken in heavily touristed areas.

Water
Varies according to locality.  Bottled water is recommended.
